@Snowdonia Mountain Hostel review
We had the most amazing yes amazing stay at Snowdonia Mountain Hostel . Where do i start? It was friggen bargain for starters. 20 of us went. Honeslty we had bunk beds. Bunk beds i hear you scoff..but my word these beds were so comfortable. Mom myself and safina slept in yhe self contained room that had its own kitchen and ensuite and a double bed for mom.
Kids were happy to share the largest room having 6 bunk beds.
The kitchen /diner was to die for. All of us that cook were like wow 3 hobs and 2 ovens.. 3 sinks. there was everything we needed in this kitchen. Dishwasher tabs washing machine and tabs ample amounts of handwash. A dry room. The bedding was amazing..so comfortable frsh clean white bed sheets...
We couldnt fault it.
The walks on our doorstep were surrounded by dreamy views. And beaches were 30 min drives and nearby was a town with a tesco express. Wed bought everything so we didnt need anything but it was good to know.
So for mom the stairs to the kitchen were very steep. We were told about this in advance. Mom tried to climb the stairs but instead we were yold about wheel access from outside which actually worked so much better. There is a firepit and benches to enjoy and at night in the quiet you can hear streams nearby.
The owners neil and Jill were so so lovey.. thank you for making our stay amazing.
We had a chilled time..thank you. See you next year.
Rooms: Bunk beds were to die for. Brand new crisps white sheets. So comfy. 1 double bed for mom xx
Nearby activities: Mountains views.
Cafe, lakes, beaches 30 min drive
But just walking was enough to keep us happy. Zip wire nersby wasnt cheap
Safety: Front door is heavy so kids couldnt get out. However if they went out yhe kitchen fire escape it did lead onto the front of the house then the road. But you wouldnt leave door open so thos wasnt an issue
Walkability: You just had to step out and it turned dreamy. The views were to die for. Even when it rained it was warm and to see the clouds rollinh over the mountains. Wheel chair freindly house and roads
Food & drinks: Self catering however there were basics there. Tea coffee spices. A hot top with constant boiling water.
All pots and pots and oven trays and 3 amazing hobs and 2 ovens itvwas a dream
Noteworthy details: Owners were lovely helpful and very friendly.
Firepit outside able to bbq too. Benches around the pit easily seat 20 ppl

Extremely unwelcoming hosts. Arrived in the evening (all pre-arranged), and woke up the next morning to a torrent of abuse, the owner literally shouting at us because someone hadnt said thank you the evening before. It went downhill from there.
We booked the entire hostel to use as a production base, this was agreed in advance with the owners. As well as the abuse on the first morning, using laptops in the kitchen, and painting a prop in the carpark both led to the owners shouting and swearing at us. They then demanded additional money for using the kitchen as an office. Its a great location but not worth dealing with the owners abuse and random additional charges.

Love this place! Didn’t want to leave. It’s such a cosy comfortable place, especially for a big group. The kitchen is easy to use and has beautiful views. So many options to explore, we were able to go for mountain walks, river swims and beautiful beach days ❤️ will be coming back to explore more of the stunning North Wales. Thank you hosts for the drying cupboard for wet clothes also!!

One of our best hostel experiences in the UK. Really lovely touches from the owners which give it a lovely wholesome and cosy vibe. The kitchen area is amazing in terms of facilities for fairly big group like ours and the view from the windows up there is stunning.
Will definitely book again, hosts couldnt have been more helpful, easily contactable and finally location is pretty unbeatable.

First time in North Wales and so happy to have landed in this place. Fantastic location. It reminded us so much of the French refuges in the Alps. We stayed 5 days with a family of three. Far away from main road so quiet and safe. Rooms are clean and practical. The common room is lovely and there is everything one needs.
Several trails start straight from the hostel or a few miles away.
Niel and Jill are wonderful hosts and shared tips and advice.
Definitely recommend. Will visit again very soon.

Fantastic location. We were able to walk up into the mountains from the doorstep. The facilities were very well thought out. We were a group of ten people so the kitchen was perfect for us to cook, eat and socialise together. Beds were comfy and the owners very helpful. One of the best hostels I have stayed in

Amazing location in the heart of the Ogwen Valley! My wife and I stayed in the self contained flat and had wonderful week in the area. The flat was very quiet and private. The whole building has been recently updated and remodeled. The hostel is well situated near many walking trails and a cycle path into Bangor. Breathtaking views are a short walk away!

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful part of Wales. My boyfriend and I stayed here when it first opened, absolutely loved it, and have already recommended it to my parents, who plan on staying here next spring.
